The International Conference on Membranous Nephropathy
Bergamo, Italy
May 6-7, 2011

Under the supervision of Giuseppe Remuzzi, M.D. F.R.C.P., the International Conference on Membranous Nephropathy (MN) covered the latest research and the translational opportunities to create therapies to address the syndrome. Dr. Remuzzi is the Director of the Mario Negri Institute for Pharmacological Research of the Negri Bergamo Laboratories, and Director of the Department of Nephrology and Dialysis at the Ospedali Riuniti of Bergamo Hospital in Bergamo, Italy.

Prior to his current role, Dr. Remuzzi was appointed to Professor of Nephrology and Director of the Division of Immunology and Organ Transplantation at Bergamo Hospital. His serves on several scientific advisory boards, including Tissera, Inc., a tissue transplantation biotechnology firm in Israel.

Dr. Remuzzi has authored more than 700 scientific articles, reviews and monographs and serves on editorial boards of numerous journals including the prestigious New England Journal of Medicine. He is a member of the International Advisory Board of The Lancet. In recognition of his achievements, he has been awarded in 1998 honorary memberships in the Association of American Physicians and the British Royal College of Physicians. In 2001 he was nominated Chairman of the Research Committee of the COMGAN (Commission on Global Advancement of Nephrology) of the International Society of Nephrology.
